For four years we have been saying that sanctions are a failure, causing more harm to the EU than to Russia. Hungary will never agree to sanction individuals or companies essential for our energy security, for achieving peace, or those with no reason to be on a sanctions list.

Ukraine’s Security Service has uncovered a large-scale Russian disinformation operation targeted at members of Hungarian community in Ukraine. Russians made fake calls with threats to Hungarians posing as Ukrainian law enforcement. The revealed operation demonstrates the scale of Russian interference in Hungarian elections on the side of Viktor Orban. Hungary is building a new diesel and gasoline pipeline with Slovakia to directly connect our refineries in Bratislava and Százhalombatta.
We signed the agreement today with Economy Minister Denisa Saková on the 127-kilometer pipeline, which will transport up to 1.5 million tonnes of diesel and gasoline annually and is scheduled to be completed in the first half of next year.
This direct link will better protect Hungary and Slovakia from disruptions caused by wars, Brussels’ failed energy policy, and the blackmail we are currently facing from Ukraine.
