So long @Match, you’ve been terrible. I’m now officially off all dating apps/sites. I’ve tried over 20 in 9 yrs & did not achieve my goal of a boyfriend. Sigh. I’m going to take a long break.

@1sammyers @hinge I’m leaving the dating apps for an extended period. I’ve been on the apps for about 9 years. I had been getting dates up until after my 60th birthday and then only 1 in 3+yrs. I gave @hinge @Match & @bumble another try (paid) & am done. I may return in a couple of yrs.

Normally I’d say nothing, but I’m so frustrated getting nowhere with dating that I replied: ‘Thanks. That’s not the response I was hoping for.😕’ He was being nice but I wish he would have not replied. I would have forgotten I sent the message & I wouldn’t feel rejected again.

I wrote a heartfelt message to a man in response to his thoughtful profile. What he wrote genuinely resonated with me. Then I asked a question to get the convo going. His response was ‘Thanks for the kind words. Best of luck!” 😭 #ugh

In my last weeks on dating apps I’m swiping willy nilly (weeding out potential Trumpers and other no’s). I’m not reading entire profiles, because what’s the point? I rarely get matches/responses. Tonight this guy responds to tell me my town is 2 hrs from his town. That’s it. 😤

I’ve got 3+ weeks on Match & Hinge. It feels so pointless. I like men, they don’t like me back. I send messages, no one responds. I used to carefully read profiles now I’m just checking for the basics before swiping. Not a Trump idiot great. Taller than 5’6. Bonus. #nopoint 😡

It finally hit me that the reason my friend (65) thinks she’s going to meet a man in our small-ish town is because of the hundreds of Hallmark romance movies she’s consumed. 🤦🏻‍♀️

24 hours left on @bumble and then I’m leaving. I did get 1 date out of the deal. It went nowhere. ☹️ I have about 3 weeks left on @Match (so far a complete waste of time) and about the same on @hinge. If nothing turns up I’m taking a break from the apps and take my chances IRL.

My friend wants to go out tomorrow and suggested the hot new bar, maybe we’ll meet men, she says. We’ve been there, crowd is younger (30s). The men I saw in our age range (60s) were there with wives/gfs. 🙄

I won’t watch the show, I hate the franchise so much. But I will gladly watch this guy make jokes about it.

So @match told me they weren’t approving my new statement about myself & told me to remove personal info like my last name, phone #, email, address. I included none of that. I did include that I’m leaving Match at the end of the month. 🤔 #FreeSpeech #not

I believe The Drummer has ghosted me, which is fine by me. But it never ceases to amaze me how men will go on about future dates we’re going to have, only to disappear.
