@BookItGabe Back when we were signing talent to Fight Capital in 2020/2021 Sabu asked if I’d be okay financially from signing him and launching the business. Literally the only person in my lifetime who’s ever asked me this. He genuinely cared. The world didn’t deserve this man.

Random Sabu story I just remembered for the first time in years….. It was my 1st road trip by myself ever. I was given the job of bringing all the ECW merch down to Florida for shows. It was my job that weekend to run the merch table and sell them. I was green as grass at being on the road. Sabu barely knew me at the time. Believe it or not, I was skin and bones, about 140 pounds and not strong at all. I had two GIANT duffle bags packed with shirts. It was already clear that Sabu was THE STAR of ECW. He already had the mystique. He was who people paid to see in the growing ECW. Here I am in baggage claim trying to carry these heavy AF duffle bags and my own bag. Keep in mind this was before there were wheels on everything. Sabu happened to land at the same time and see me. Without saying anything, he took the duffle bags out of my hands and carried them to the car that was waiting for us. I begged him not to thinking it was not his place to have to carry my bags. He didn’t want to hear it. For someone new in wrestling and in awe of everything, I’m not sure how many people would have helped me like that. Sabu didn’t need to be asked, he just saw and he helped this skinny, little nobody. That was who he was.

@TherealRVD Sabu once told me, that after this Shaggy thanked him in the locker room and said ‘Damn that one kinda hurt’ Sabu knowing they were rather green ‘Yeah that’s what it’s supposed to feel like’ LOL.
