18 shark species, inc all mako, wedgefish & giant guitarfish were yesterday adopted for CITES App II listing in a committee vote @ #CITESCoP18. Fantastic news, now all work focuses on final plenary on 27th/28th, where some Governments may attempt to overturn these decisions.

The @A_WhiteShark & @GregSkomal were in the area off Cape Cod yesterday when a white shark killed a seal.After checking the tag,it was our own Miss Carolina that I tagged 2.6 yrs ago off South Carolina.Great to see her doing well, lookin plump and hunting successfully @MA_Sharks

The 4 sharks tagged today brings the season total to 12 in just short of a month. The most ever tagged in one season off MA was 28 in 2017. With about 3 months left to work, how many sharks do you think will be tagged this year?

FIRST FOOTAGE EVER! Drone footage of an interaction between two white sharks off the coast of Chatham yesterday, taken by Nate Jensen. Our local shark science team is hoping to see the high res version to learn more about the interaction.

The sighting in Cape Cod Bay earlier today was white shark WS 16-32 aka Ashley Grace. She was tagged on 8/29/2016 off Cape Cod and has been back every year since, usually returning around this time. Since being tagged she's traveled to the Gulf of Mexico and the #LowCountry.
