I grew up in Anambra State, and I saw this up close. One of my classmates’ fathers served as a Commissioner under Peter Obi. Let me make it very clear: Peter Obi didn’t build his cabinet around career politicians. He deliberately brought in professionals from different fields, people who already had established careers before government. My classmate’s dad is a senior lawyer with law chambers in Anambra, Abia, and now Lagos. After serving in government, he simply returned to legal practice. No drama, no clinging to power. His Chief of Staff, who later became Commissioner for Information, was a professor and lecturer. When the administration ended, she went straight back to academia. That was the pattern. These were people who had something to return to, so they weren’t in office to survive. they were there to serve. Compare that to the usual system dominated by career politicians, where public office becomes a permanent livelihood, and you’ll understand the difference immediately. It’s really not complicated: When you appoint professionals, they serve and go back to their lives. When you appoint career politicians, they stay and turn governance into a career.

Pls, where are the Commissioners and SSAs who served under Peter Obi during his time in Anambra State?

Everton is suddenly a sitting club 🤣 This is more reason Man City will always go on a win run. They face teams & the teams suddenly becomes a poor team. Sorry, Arsenal fans.

We have successfully completed the Agege MSME Capacity Building Programme. Delivering real impact and measurable outcomes. A total of 395 participants engaged in at least one session (69% female, 31% male), with 130 participants completing a minimum of three sessions and qualifying for graduation. We also recorded about 50 participants across our online masterclasses and quizzes. On the funding side, 127 loan applications were received. So far, 25 have been approved, while 56 were declined, largely due to bad credit. The process continues, with 32 applications currently incomplete and 24 under review, progressing through KYC and other requirements. This is more than a training programme, it is a pipeline for growth, discipline, and sustainable enterprise development in Agege. #agege #avo #avoisworking #anewagegeisrising

Shutting down a city of 20 million people to clean their immediate environment is parochial and lacks imagination. For emphasis: the issue is not so much about cleaning your environment (which is great) but the logistics of waste management - starting from the collection, to disposal and recycling. Anything short of rethinking this system is cosmetic and unimaginative.
Tokunbo Wahab@tokunbo_wahab

Tomorrow morning between 6:30am and 8:30am, we begin a new chapter in our collective journey toward a cleaner Lagos. The monthly environmental sanitation exercise returns, and I am calling on every resident to come out and participate actively. Let me address the confusion some have tried to create. No court pronouncement has invalidated this exercise. The State proceeded to the Court of Appeal, and judgment was delivered in our favour. The Court affirmed that the laws used for the implementation and enforcement of environmental sanitation are legitimate and constitutional. So disregard those who choose to mislead the public. We have planned this for over a year. We have thought it through. We cannot keep complaining about dirty surroundings and blaming government while shirking our own responsibilities. The care of our environment is a collaborative project between government and citizens. Major transport unions controlling about 90% of vehicles on our roads have pledged not to deploy their vehicles from major parks during the sanitation window. If government vehicles are staying put, what will it cost us to stay home for just two hours to clean our environment? We are not unreasonable. Exceptions exist for emergencies, scheduled flights, and students writing JAMB exams. LAWMA has been fully mobilized to evacuate waste generated. Environmental health officers will monitor properties, and defaulters will be served abatement notices. Tomorrow, let us show Lagos and the world that we are ready to take ownership of our environment. Two hours. One Saturday each month. A cleaner, healthier, flood-free Lagos for all of us. #LagosSanitationExercise #CleanerLagos

Today, in my capacity as the Lagos State Chairman of Mini Football, I hosted the President of Mini Football Nigeria, Mr. Datti Umar, alongside the National Secretary and other State Chairmen. I took them on a tour of the newly completed facilities at Keke Nursery & Primary School and the ongoing football pitch at Salvation Army Nursery & Primary School, Dopemu, clear steps towards building world-class grassroots sports infrastructure in Agege. Our discussions focused on positioning Agege as a training base for the Nigerian Mini Football team and exploring the prospects of Nigeria hosting the African Mini Football Championship. From grassroots to global stage, Agege is ready. #agege #avo #avoisworking #anewagegeisrising

"I have entered okada Lagos airport people, as you people cannot regulate the prices that Uber drivers are charging at your airport. A ride will be showing ₦16,000, ₦17,000 but no driver will go unless the ride is ₦50K, unless the ride is ₦40K for a Corolla, when it’s not like I am booking a Prado. And they will tell you “airport is charging us, airport is charging us.” You people will not allow Uber drivers from outside to come in and pick passengers. Somebody will buy a flight ticket for ₦200,000 and after that still pay ₦50K for taxi from airport home, when I’m not m@d..." - Man l@ments inflated Uber fares at Lagos airport, alleging p00r regulation as drivers demand up to ₦50,000 for rides meant to cost far less.
