Assemblymember Karines Reyes has been a fierce advocate for working families, nurses, and immigrant communities across New York. As a registered nurse and union leader, she has spent her career on the frontlines, fighting for better working conditions, quality healthcare, and dignity for both patients and providers. From the Bronx to Queens, Karines understands what it means to serve. She has led on issues of health equity, labor rights, and immigrant justice, and has never hesitated to stand up to powerful interests to deliver for the communities that need it most. I'm proud to earn the endorsement of Citizen Action of New York, an organization that has long fought for the bold, people-first policies our state needs. In the People's House, I've championed many of these same fights — from taxing the rich and investing in public education and universal child care, to expanding health care access, defending immigrant communities, advancing housing justice, and taking real action on climate. Our campaign is grateful to have Citizen Action’s support as we build a grassroots campaign in Western Queens rooted in working-class power and a vision of New York that is more just, more equitable, and accountable to everyday people.

Joined @WoodsideMoves to walkthrough the neighborhood and identify the problem sites for exposed lead paint, pigeon droppings, and illegal dumping. Our neighborhood deserves better than this and our office will work with our community partners to address to the proper government agencies!

Let's be clear: there is nothing "cushy" about back-breaking hotel work. While billionaire hotel owners and corporate executives grow richer, the workers who clean the rooms, make the beds, and keep this city running are fighting just to survive. I will always stand in solidarity with hotel workers in their fight for dignity and a fair contract. Solidarity forever!
