@samuelluckhurst I would say he is definitely one player who needs to up his game this year. Ok in defence but offers very little going forward other than sideways passes to Bruno. He was 3rd choice right back for Portugal earlier in the summer at the Nations League.

Can we stop comparing signing Ollie Watkins to Casemiro, the same way we are doing for Benjamin Šeško to Rasmus Højlund because of their age? The situations aren't the same & shouldn't be treated to a finger nail deep level of analysis. Watkins is a proven PL performer with a consistent goalscoring record, a striker who can bridge that gap between the next major one at the club. Casemiro's age, fee & suitability for the move were concerns at the time, especially with how it might age in no time at all. Šeško has 27, 20, 22 & 18 G/A the last four seasons, has been capped 41 times by Slovenia (16 goals). Højlund had 23 & 13 in two full top level seasons, he'd been capped only 6 times by Denmark (6 goals). There's also only so much comps & stats can tell us, we aren't professional scouts. Transfers are a leap of faith for fans, we have to put an element of trust in the club - but we shouldn't be scared by the prospect of risk. Fear is not a place to operate from.
