@Fe777ann @CardPurchaser Not trying to be snarky. I’m just tired of these reposts. Buying cards is a hobby. Not a retirement plan. Then I see the posts of people complaining they didn’t get any “value” from the boxes they opened. As if card manufacturers are conspiring against them.

@Sports_X_ @CardPurchaser Or it’s random, and people are looking for patterns when none exist. Every “hit” from a certain store or product type fuels confirmation bias. It’s not any different than lottery players believing certain stores get all the winners.

My Lids Theory: They get first wave boxes & you're more likely to get hits. Walmart has 3,900 stores that sale cards. A case of Bowman to each is 92K blasters. Lids has 1,018 stores, direct product from Fanatics & get it product weeks before WM, etc. Thoughts? @CardPurchaser

@TheLab_FBB How do you decide on when to jump ship on a prospect? I’m holding Carter Jensen. Would you rather have Jensen or Waldschmidt?

And yes, I would add Ryan Waldschmidt in shallow leagues. I said this yesterday when Spencer Jones got the call: There’s a small chance he’s awesome and a big chance he’s not. No biggie to drop if a guy fails. But you can’t add if he’s already good. I like Waldschmidt more FWIW

It feels like a Nick Krall move to claim Alek Thomas from the Diamondbacks. That career 75 OPS+ is just too good for him to pass up.

@LogansLeague @CardsJakes Baseball fans are different. Cooperstown is a pilgrimage for so many young and old fans alike. The history is what makes new fans collect Ernie Banks. The problem with modern cards is we just don’t know who will have staying power.

You can enjoy vintage cards. You can enjoy modern cards. It’s okay to also enjoy both. What I’ll never understand is “only collect vintage, mantle prices will keep going up." I don’t know. Maybe someone who never watched Mantle would rather have an Elly De Cruz or Bobby Witt card, because you know they can watch them actually hit a baseball in real time. The disdain towards modern collecting can be quite ridiculous. Both can and should be fun.

@Craig_Sandlin Chase Rate way down, which is a good thing. Obviously, easier not to chase when you’re facing AAA arms. But it’s a step in the right direction. He’s a player who needs confidence to play well. Always been streaky.

Did he figure something out... or is he just facing AAA pitching?

@ExpoHoops That’s crazy because where did most all of these players come from originally? High School!!!! 😳😳😳 that literally makes no sense…so what these high school players just enroll in college and try to get better?

There are currently 2,000+ basketball players stuck in the transfer portal. Many Division I coaches have already said they’re done recruiting high school athletes. Insane.

Used my $200 in Fanatics cash I got for signing up for their Sportsbook. Got several NFL Chrome blasters and several Bowman basketball blasters. Definitely better than me betting it and likely losing it all. :)

@JesseWright1489 @CardPurchaser @PSAcard I agree. Trying to differentiate between a PSA 9 and a PSA 10 is nearly impossible without using a jeweler loupe. And even then the difference is dubious at best. But as long as people will pay 3x the amount for 10s this will continue.

@PSAcard is a scam. It’s a racket designed to bilk you out of money with zero accountability and totally subjective grading standards. If we want the hobby to improve boycotting this ridiculous grading system is a good start. @CardPurchaser

@kbkcards I think your JRam will be more valuable down the road than say a Skubal in Detroit. When Skoob spends the next decade in another city.
