Sinag Maynila announced their finalists today, and I recommend seeing their documentary and shorts programs. Some of them I saw for 2025 and some even ended up in my favorites list for that year.

I thought No Other Choice was a supremely fun watch, with Park Chan-wook at top form. My ★★★★½ review of No Other Choice (2025) on @letterboxd: boxd.it/bt7m1j

Technically only one local film premiering in cinemas tomorrow, and that is: Quezon (dir. Jerrold Tarog) But if you count Italy-PH coproductions, there's also: The Marianas Web (dir. Marco Calvise)

Man Exit 8 slaps. Love what Kawamura added to the source material. Love the usage of Bolero as a musical echo to the film form. Love how the game's liminal horror and endless loop is tied to the purgatory of personal inertia.
