@Moutial_ @VValtzy_ Alright, so this is my last time replying here: x.com/FilmXFilmsStud…

@von_doom310 @VValtzy_ Hey, so I would never reach for a weapon around a cop. You wouldn't either. The problem is in any other normal interaction with someone else irl, if someone asks "Do you have ____" (a toy, a rock, a hot dog, ect...) its completely reasonable to reach & show it to them.

@ineedmorearms @tomaspoper @VValtzy_ Hey so before this gets any nastier, I just want to point out this is a Brazil Portuguese guy, who doesn't live in the US. This new auto-translate feature may be making us all lose some nuance here XD I still hold while no one show reach, cops can verbalize the request better.

The Academy has banned AI from ever winning an Oscar. Screenplays “must be human-authored” and only roles “demonstrably performed by humans with their consent” can qualify for a nomination.

@Entombdmachine @VValtzy_ Yeah, that's kinda where I'm at. As stupid as it (or this guy with the knife) may be for reaching for it, it's clearly a common enough misunderstanding that the little bit of extra verbal instruction is worth it to save lives & prevent unnecessary risk for both sides.

@FilmXFilmsStudi @VValtzy_ In military basic training they just treat everyone as incapable of following basic instructions initially and you begin to see why immediately. We come from a society aloof in complexities to the extent that “don’t think just do” feels unnatural and vulnerable.

@Frown08 @von_doom310 @VValtzy_ There lies the misconception: "An officer of the law is asking me for, or atleast inquiring me about this weapon. Let me hand it over so I comply..." is their thought process. You & I get the cop is perpetually on alert & doesn't want a flashed weapon, but they don't know.

@FilmXFilmsStudi @von_doom310 @VValtzy_ An interaction with a cop is not a normal interaction. It's a cop. Like when a dude dripped out on body armor and weapons stops you it's not to say what's up?

@FilmXFilmsStudi @VValtzy_ Not gonna lie, if a cop asked me if I had a weapon on me and I had a knife in my pocket, I'm at least 95% certain that every natural instinct I had in my head would be going "Okay, do NOT just pull your knife on this cop right now."

@von_doom310 @VValtzy_ It should probably be a part of police training to keep that in mind when interacting with the general public, even as "obvious" as not reaching is to you or I. Not everyone is weapon trained former service member/ situation awareness trained individual. Most aren't.
