🆘🆘 THUMPER (ID 246911), 2 YO, FEMALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an aco - owner surrender on 2/5/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- hoarding situation. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/24/26 ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 46 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ THUMPER IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions, leaning away and avoiding petting and fleeing repeatedly to avoid contact. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I have lived with cats in my previous home. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. Thumper tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to her new home. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke @mehser12 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE (ID 244794), 5 YO, MALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 2/17/2026, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive towards people. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/24/26 ➡️ NEW HOPE PARTNER RESCUE ONLY ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 34 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKEIS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He has warmed up to staff using treats to build a positive association; however, he displays signs of overstimulation or high arousal and has a bite/scratch history This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 A volunteer writes: Pineapple Upside Down Cake is an adorable, five-year-old orange tabby. He has a beautiful face and sweet green eyes with which he gazed at me softly when he came forward and parked himself loaf-style to get a better look at me. He was a quick study with a squeeze-up and definitely enjoys his food. He seems like he'd be a willing playmate, but proved a bit afraid of the red laser and the cat dancer. I think both were foreign to him. Others have reported that he can get overstimulated. In my estimation, he's also easily scared. Pineapple talked back to me a bit when I started to sing to him, which I found pretty winning. I wonder if other visitors would have the same experience. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you

🆘🆘 PANTHA (ID ), 9 YO, MALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 12/27/2025, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive towards people. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 3/19/26 ➡️ SENIOR ALERT ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️ 🆘🆘 2ND Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 81 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ PANTHA IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS – He is not thriving in the care center and has begun to deteriorate in the Adoptions room. He is now at times displaying signs of frustration and over stimulation during cage cleanings and during some interactions. A “DETERIORATING IN THE ADOPTIONS ROOM” designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Pantha interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Although Pantha is showing level 2 behavior here in our care center, due to a multiple scratch & bite history the behavior team is recommending he goes to a single-pet, adult only home with experienced cat parents. The behavior team believes that Pantha has the chance to thrive with the right cat parents and ideally in a quiet, low-traffic home with daily mental and physical stimulation provided. A volunteer writes: Pantha is a handsome tuxedo cat who does not play well with children. He can be fearful when meeting strangers, but may warm up with time. He can be prone to becoming overstimulated, so that is something his future parents will need to be on the lookout for. In the shelter, Pantha has been described as social, sweet, affectionate and people oriented. He can be unsure of his surroundings. He needs experienced cat parents who will treat him gently. Because of his history of playing roughly with kids, he needs to go to a home which does not include young children. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you
