@EazyFreezie I do get where you are coming from though. I don't want to dismiss the thought immediately, but just from being around a while, it would cause more problems then solve long term.
Defining events also prohibits growth of events. For example, while Collision was smaller last...

Further extrapolation of this. Did a 45min presentation a few months ago on stream but here is the general jist of it.
Once again, idk how doable a solution like this is due to scene politics but it's a hypothetical worth exploring as it's not too far off from most FGC circuits.

@jinxeatsdust I'm still very much in the camp that a SWT style TTS of predetermined majors + opt ins for B/C/D tiers is the way to go forward but I know there is too much politics for something like that to happen.

@YoungBoyBread excluding players competitively. The bigger thing is that it's hard to test as well, because if they *don't* approve it, they normally would just deny the entire application instead of just the ruleset. They would then ask you to resubmit.

@YoungBoyBread I'm unsure if setting handicap/knockback would raise issues, but based on how strict they've been there is a good chance it would cause an issue due to intentionally placing a player at a disadvantage. It could be viewed in the same light as intentionally (1/2)

Because Nintendo also needs to approve your ruleset. All organizers applying for a license also needs to submit the event rules in advance. Any changes after approval also needs to be reapproved.

So like, I get banning Steve will apparently have Nintendo ninjas at your doorstop. But, what is stopping TO's from just "restricting" Steve in a way that effectively bans him? Like just say if you select Steve you have to set your handicap percentage to 300% and you get 1 stock?
