Government amended nine laws and enacted four new laws to strengthen the country’s anti money laundering and counter financing of terrorism framework. This was announced by the minister of Finance during the celebration of the country exit from the grey list.

The Governor and Deputy Governor of the Bank of Namibia paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Finance to formally introduce themselves following their appointments and to reaffirm the longstanding partnership between the Ministry and the central bank.

Namibia officially exited the grey list.

On 3 June 2026, the Directorate of Government Internal Audit and Policy Coordination conducted a workshop for the Honourable Councillors and Management of the Otjiwarongo Municipality.

The Ministers of Finance met with MIRT’s Hon. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, to discuss revenue and operational challenges, including foreign missions and foreign exchange matters. Both Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to inter-ministerial collaboration.

The Minister met with the Nutrition and Food Security Alliance of Namibia to discuss the importance of collaboration between Government and Civil Society in advancing Namibia’s global commitments to eliminate all forms of malnutrition and improve food security for all Namibians.

The Appropriation Bill for 2026/27 has been passed by Parliament and gazetted into law. This means the national budget is now officially approved and government spending for the financial year can legally proceed. #nambudget2026/27
