AI Sign Language LLM (SL-LLM) for the Global Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Community Backed by @YZiLabs (Part of @EASYResidency S2)

我们是 FingerDance(来自 @EASYResidency Season 2)。

@mk66623 binance.com/en/blog/ecosys…

I studied speech and hearing science in undergrad. I’ve seen a wave of speech-based AI companies raising, which are awesome. But, how often do we think about the other side of the equation: people with hearing loss. Globally more than 1.5 billion people live with hearing loss, and about 430 million have disabling hearing impairment. Meanwhile the global hearing-aids market hit roughly US$ 8.3 billion in 2024, and is forecast to grow toward US$ 14–15.5 billion by the early 2030s. That means billions of people, many in underserved markets, potentially stand to benefit from better hearing support and speech-oriented technologies. If you’re building or investing in speech-AI, this isn’t just about voice interfaces. There’s a huge and growing opportunity in accessibility, inclusion and assistive-hearing.

Dear, Of course, I would love to share more. During our last visit sharing Giggle Academy with the children, we encountered a child who was mute. It was heartbreaking to see him unable to interact with the voice command feature. I know there is already an in-app skip voice command option, but I hope there could be a feature that, when enabled, allows typing instead of speaking so that children like him can also participate. In addition, to make the app more inclusive, I suggest adding a Color Blind Mode, which many well-known apps like Microsoft Office and Google Docs already support. Providing alternative color schemes (e.g., for red-green or blue-yellow color blindness) and offering patterns or text indicators alongside colors can greatly improve accessibility and user experience. Since about 8% of boys and 0.5% of girls are color blind, this feature would be especially meaningful for children, ensuring that no user is excluded because of color vision differences. Thank you, Giggle Academy, for your commitment to creating inclusive and accessible learning experiences for all children.
