@MattKopnak Hey Matt, I’ll be the one to let you know. Thomas isn’t going anywhere, he never was, it was all to pump Kyrou’s value.
Teams don’t trade #1 C at 26, under contract that is cheap considering and the legit captain in the locker room.
RT18 would be the best player on the Sabres.

What I am suggesting here is literally what St. Louis did when they traded for Ryan O'Reilly. They had prospects we couldn't touch and the trade still happened.
I am also sure that Thomas isn't the only player that will be available this summer.

As much as I think Robert Thomas is an ideal fit to play with Tage, I voted No. I believe the maturation of Ostlund, Helenius, Benson and perhaps Kulich along with the top 4 D will propel the team to true contenders. Try to add a less expensive top 6 option. Dawson Mercer?

@BoldasLove89 @Sabrestalkv2 Correct but I think what we seen this playoff is a lot of good/very good players but not a single GREAT one that can make a difference when it matters. Give up some good to get a great. Every team still in it has a star. A 100 pt player. Not us

@Finlay97J @Sabrestalkv2 Last year we flipped a more veteran player in Peterka (3 full years played) for Doan who had yet to play a full season in the NHL and our offense improved. Sometimes the young guys are what makes you better if they are high end

Just replied this to Joe but people are having trouble remembering to get good players you have to move good players. We got Tuch/Krebs in the Eichel trade, look at the Quinn Hughes trade they moved so many ready now pieces. If you want a Thomas type player ur losing roster guys
