Algeria is becoming a military force. The country has been arming itself for several years and now boasts a fleet of over 1,000 tanks, including 600 T-90SA. Supported by nearly 800 BMP-2M and an agreement for 300 Terminators, as well as at least 4,000 armored transport vehicles. Algeria is one of the few operators of the Iskander missile system, with at least 48 launchers. Its air defense is superior to most European countries, with over 100 Pantsir-S1/S2 systems, 8 regiments of S-300PMU, 48 Buk-M2, and more than 40 Tor-M2 systems, along with dozens of other older systems. The Algerians are heavily investing in renewing their air power, which includes 35 MiG-29M2s and 63 Su-30MKA fighters. Recent reports indicate that they are now providing their MiG-29M2s to Sudan and plan to replenish their fleet with scheduled deliveries of an additional: 9 Su-30MKA 14 Su-34M 7 Su-35 and 14 Su-57, Making Algeria the first country on the continent to operate fifth-generation aircraft.
