So I’ve been seeing this float around for days, and a few people have sent this my way. I want to believe TDE had good intentions with this, but it’s incredibly vague and my first thought when I clicked the link was “is this a scam?” I would love if the film fund page detailed the program FULLY. 1) how much monetary support? What is the budget? (To even know if my short qualifies.) 2) what type of camera package? 3) what type of lighting and lens kits? 4) ummm…sound?? Is sound gear included? 5) does post production include all editorial? Edit, color, sound mix? 6) what is a notable festival? What qualifies? Is it academy award qualifying fests only? 7) joint ownership should be the standard. You’re going to lose a LOT of interest from filmmakers if there’s a chance their work will solely be owned by the company. Great intentions, and it could be a wonderful opportunity!! But the lack of detail is concerning. It’s giving quite a few filmmakers pause.
