@TorbaySgt So sorry to see this, Thank you for all you and your partner and colleagues do to keep us safe. I wish a speedy recovery and please, when you explain to your children, please do say that there are many, many people who have huge respect for their parents and are appalled by this.

40 weeks imprisonment for the guy who did this to my partner whilst she was on duty last week in Paignton. Broke her nose. Watching our youngest boys’ eyes fill with tears as we explained what happened was heartbreaking 💔

This will pull at your heart strings 🌈💔🥀🐾 RMWD Hagen crossed th rainbow bridge last year, and her amazing humans have arranged for her to rest in peace in @edinburghcastle Edinburgh castle dog cemetery watching over the beautiful city and close to her humans heart ❤️ British Army High Assurance Search dog Hagen @mddc_bh @npakosovo one of the originals The best training before she was recruited by the British Army during the height of the Afghanistan conflict, IED's were maiming and killing so many we needed a sqn of soldiers of epic noses, and we found them Hagen served in many tours and operations, and when the conflict eased, she went on to train soldiers in the art of HASD. She wasn't the easiest of gals and had many an 'incident' trying to find her paws in a lesser busy environment in the UK but fortunately was given the opportunity to decompress and find her inner calm. Her first home didn't work out, but that's OK as her pawfect home was around the corner, and she had the most beautiful retirement. She kept them on their toes, but they didn't mind. Sadly, like many of our heroes, age and tired legs, couldn't keep up with her puppy soul, and she went to sleep 8th November 2023, in the arms of her hooman guardian We are truly sorry for your loss, and thank you for all you gave her @john_rw_ 🥀🫶🐾 Run free Hagen, free from ageing legs and weary heart What an amazing way to honour our hero ❤️ We will see you at the reorg, don't bite anyone until we get there 😉💔🌈🐾 Lest we forget 🥀 @Official_DATR @ForcesNews @DefenceHQ @1MWD_Reg @datr_official @bfbsradio @1_mwd

Shocking 2c many people either don’t know or don’t care when it comes to supporting #cannedhunting if you pay money to cuddle wild animals on farms described in this excellent article then you are supporting the killing of beautiful animals Thank you ⁦⁦@DailyMirror⁩ 👍👍

@joannaccherry I came to hear you at the Edinburgh Festival last year - whatever comes next, you will be missed. (security refused entry to my friend who had brought a banana for his lunch, unless he ate it. The banana skin was allowed ! )

Thanks to all the former constituents, colleagues, friends & well-wishers who have sent me lovely messages today. I had to travel to a memorial service as soon as the count was over so it’s been a very busy day, but I will reply to everyone eventually ❤️

I’m missing our dear friends Paddy and Charles especially today. They would have loved these results – especially seeing the Liberal Democrats winning back their old seats in Somerset and the Highlands!

@exitthelemming Mr Timpson senior, with his wife, also fostered LOADS of children - it wasn't easy, windows were smashed at times, but when you decide to help someone and just do it - you find a way! Great appointment !

Timpson’s are well-known for employing ex-offenders to help them back into work. They pay their tax. They value their staff. And then there’s this. CEO James Timpson (who’s also Chair of the Prison Reform Trust) is the new Prisons Minister. Great appointment

This lovely lady — the wonderful Wendy Craig CBE — is 90 years old today.🎂🥂I'll be popping over to see her later with a large bunch of flowers. It's easy at that age to feel forgotten (her CBE was 20 years overdue). If you want to add your good wishes in the comments, I'll print them all out and take them to her. (Feel free to RT, but I can't print greetings above so please add them below.)

@ScottishOpera Beautiful voice and hugely talented- Karen also performed many unforgettable roles - with The Rakes Progress being one fine example! Not everyone could carry off this costume with such aplomb!

Today we bid a fond farewell to Karen Murray. For over 30 years, Karen has sung in our chorus and covered roles across our productions. This week we have celebrated Karen's impressive tenure, her talent, and the dedication she has brought to every production. Thank you Karen. 🥰

But the frequent online explanation of the meaning, "I'll take it as a yes whether you nod or wink; either work" doesn't seem right. Surely a blind horse can't notice the difference, so it's closer to "neither work; both are a little use as each other"? Thoughts?

Just passed a hairdresser called "a nod's as good as a wink..." D2 said it was a strange name. I know the whole phrase is "A nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse", and that blind horses were used in the past for jobs where they might be easily frightened
