Muslim mayor Sadiq Khan says the British people love diversity. Not at the expense of our own culture we don’t!

30,000 Muslims in Birmingham participating in sex-segregated Islamic prayers in public today. Just as wrong as it was in Trafalgar Square. There are around 190–220 mosques in Birmingham which they can pray in. Again, this is asserting their dominance.

British values mean defending everyone’s right to practise their faith freely. In London, I’m proud Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and others can celebrate in Trafalgar Square. Singling out Muslims isn’t ‘British values’ - it’s prejudice. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

In each of these cases public services turned a blind eye to the harm of women and girls because they were scared of being called Islamophobic. Labour’s Islamophobia definition will make this worse. If we put one group on a pedestal and make it harder for public services to do their jobs, then we will only foster more inequality and resentment.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met with Muslim leaders today to listen to other changes they would like across England and Wales. It comes after new laws were introduced on Monday to protect the Muslim faith.
