Jackson tried to trap him with an emotional hospital-birth scenario involving illegal migrants. JACKSON: “Are we bringing pregnant women in for depositions?!” SAUER: “No. The executive order depends on lawful status. If a baby is born, a birth certificate is issued, and the system checks immigration status through existing databases.” Jackson then pushed again, asking whether parents would get a chance to prove they intended to stay in the U.S. Sauer shut that down too. He said the exact opposite is true: if someone believes they were wrongly denied, there are ways to challenge it, but those cases would be rare.
