Hot take: They spent the whole show portraying Homelander as basically a grown up, super powered version of a needy, sociopathic child and had a few characters say it to his face. Becoming a sniveling bitch at the end when he became powerless was always the obvious play.

Too much Soldier Boy spinoff bait, too many loose ends, and not enough payoff for everything we waited for.
A lot of fans wanted it to hit harder. Wanted it to feel epic.
Instead it felt like they were in a hurry to finish.
The Boys had one of the best runs in TV history… and the ending left me cold.

@streiterx @nonregemesse But Ryan is supposed to be similarly strong. Not full developed yet and less experienced, but at least concerning his speed he could very well be quick enough to keep up, hold him there so the others can gang up on him.

In season 1 of The Boys, Homelander is so fast that he grabs Butcher AFTER Butcher detonates the C-4 at Madeline Stillwell’s house and takes him to safety unscathed.
I looked it up and apparently he moves at 23x the speed of sound.
How could not escape the White House?
