The three questions seniors secretly Google about college at 2 AM  Is college worth it anymore? What if I pick the wrong major? Am I ruining my life if I don’t go to college? Your decision at 18 isn’t permanent. It’s a starting direction. Careers evolve. Skills stack. Paths change. Focus on learning how to make good decisions.

Nobody talks about plumbing… and that’s a mistake. It’s not just unclogging toilets. It’s installing hospital water systems. Running gas lines. Building commercial piping. Fire suppression systems. City infrastructure. That’s math. That’s code. That’s real problem-solving. Apprentice → Journeyman → Master → Business owner. High demand. Strong income. No four-year debt required. If school doesn’t feel like your lane, don’t assume you don’t have one. Plumbing isn’t a backup plan. For some of you, it’s the power move.

Resilience isn’t “push through.” It’s coordination. You don’t control what happens. You control what it means. Rejection = redirection. Low grade = data. Setback = recalibration. Not denying the sting. Just refusing to let one moment define you. Use it. Adjust. Move. Adaptable people win.

If you've got a low GPA or just need more support starting college, you gotta look at access schools. And if a college will accept you but won't support you....not a good fit. Access colleges are built to support you throughout your college journey.

“Access schools” aren’t a special category… They’re schools designed to give more students a real shot. More flexibility. More support. More pathways forward. Not easier....just more accessible.

We’ve confused “providing information” with actually guiding students. And they are not the same thing. Information overwhelms. Guidance creates clarity. And clarity is what gets students unstuck. Anyone else seen this?

A lot people are talking about access schools. If you aren't looking at them, maybe you should. Here's what they are...as well as some great ones in Georgia.

Impostor syndrome has been my uninvited plus-one at every level. College: “I shouldn’t be here.” Sorority: “This must be a mistake.” Master’s: “Everyone’s smarter.” Specialist: “Bad idea.” PhD: “They’re going to tell me to pack up and leave.” New level. Same voice. Here’s the truth: Feeling like an impostor usually means you grew. Your brain hates unfamiliar. Growth is unfamiliar. So you do the thing anyway. Go to class. Submit the paper. Take the seat. Apply. Confidence doesn’t come first. Action does. Do it scared.

We don’t have a “college problem.” We have a decision-making problem. We’re asking students to commit to a path before they’ve had the chance to understand themselves. That’s not preparation. That’s pressure. And pressure leads to poor choices. Say REAL if you see this, too.

Your GPA might change where you start… but it does NOT decide where you finish. Some schools are built to admit you. Others are built to support you. That difference matters more than people think.

No matter which career path you take, it's going to take time to build up to the salary you want. Experience. Certifications. Skills. Consistency That's what gets you there.

We gotta stop this whole "4-year college vs. technical college" beef. One isn't better than the other.  They both work. You just gotta find which one fits you.

We are supposed to be talking about college with any kid that wants to talk about college. But we're not.

Low GPA? That’s your starting point, not your ending. College isn’t off the table. You just need a smarter first step. Start where you can. Build your GPA. Transfer when you’re ready. There’s still a path; most students just never get shown it.

Time for some real talk. Most people don't graduate from college making $100,000 a year. Sure could be nice, though, right? Here's what gets you there.

Not loud. Not flashy. But deeply meaningful. A Funeral Director is there when families need guidance the most...organizing, supporting, and bringing dignity to someone’s final goodbye. ✔️ Purpose-driven work ✔️ Strong, steady demand ✔️ Specialized training (not always a 4-year path) This isn’t just a job; it’s service at one of life’s most important moments.

Parents, if your senior isn't going to graduate on time, STOP. Take a breath. Don't panic. And don't think college is off the table. There are options to get to graduation. And there are options for college. The worst thing you can do is think that your student's journey is over. Drop the word PLAN in the comments below or DM me the word PLAN. We can figure it out.

Is a 4-year college the best fit for your student? Even if they struggle? What about an access school? Be honest.
