Marching through the streets of Freetown today alongside thousands of my fellow Convent girls filled my heart with pride and gratitude. Leading the parade for our 160th Anniversary was a deeply personal journey back to the roots that shaped me. Seeing the vibrant energy of current pupils and alumnae reminded me of the unbreakable bond we share as part of this great institution.
As I stood in St. Anthony’s Parish Church for our Thanksgiving Service, I reflected on our incredible legacy from 1866 to this milestone year of 2026. This school remains a sanctuary that has spent over a century and a half molding young girls into reputable and impactful women. Being among my sisters, I felt the enduring strength of a mission that empowers every Sierra Leonean girl to lead with integrity and grace.
This celebration serves as a powerful reminder of our responsibility to uplift the next generation of leaders. I am inspired by the potential within every girl who walks through those historic gates. It has been a truly historic day of reflection and sisterhood, and I remain ever grateful for the foundation this school provided me as a proud Old Girl.
