Kicked off our journey with our 4 new elementary/intermediate coaches today with lunch, learning, and vision! Goal 3 coming to life- building a culture of coaching and growth for all! 💙

Courageous, Visionary, Honest, Student Centered, and Passionate are just a few of the words I would use to describe this team! Our Standards Based Learning and Grading Thought Leaders culminated our learning journey today around the work of transforming our grading, practices! 💙

Welcome to the Elementary/Intermediate Principal Team Ryan Kopp! Mr. Kopp was approved by the board this evening as the new Principal at Bales beginning next school year! We will miss Mr. Patton in this role but know he will shine in his new one! 💙

Mrs. Lauren Jones’ Westwood 1st graders published their first book today! Their book was inspired by the amazing Mrs. Jennifer Quigley! Here’s a toast to you amazing authors! A moment these writers will never forget! 💙

2nd grade Standards Based Pilot teachers created our first ever 2nd grade standards based report card to be implemented next year in our pilot classrooms! They began creating teaching rubrics and identifying success criteria all focused on student ownership! What a team! 💙

Congratulations  Cline Kindergarten graduates! We could not be more proud of our students, teachers, administrators, and parents! This year has truly taken the strength of community! Cline Ponies- You did it! 👨‍🎓 💙

Authentic Assessment Dream Team is still dreaming even with 7.5 days of school left! Casting vision for work around Goal 2 into next year and the roles they will play in leading and modeling this learning and risk taking! Inspired by this team today! 💙👏🌟

As we are going into finals this week it has really struck me that I didn't hear one student talking about learning. It's all about playing the game of points.

What fun it was to see the smiles of parents as they zoomed in to watch their 2nd grade students share their research projects in Mrs. Elizabeth Walsh’s 2nd grade classroom! Finding ways to partner with parents even in this pandemic school year! FISD Beliefs in action! 💙
