⭐️🎺 Before we focus on Test Pieces for our Area & Grand Shield Contests, it was a privilege to be invited to be part of a fundraising event for the 2026 Miners' Gala at Redhills, Durham, sharing the stage with Eddie Dempsey (RMT), Mary Kelly Foy MP & Stephen Guy (DMA) 🎺⭐️

Remembrance Parade & Service at Birtley 🎺

☔🎺 Rain didn't stop play at Wetherby Bandstand on Sunday afternoon when the resilient audience were well prepared with their umbrellas & waterproofs 🎺☔

🎶 Another Parade with the RMT banners - this time in Norfolk to commemorate the longest strike in history, the Burston School Strike 🎺🥁🎶

Our last engagement before our Summer break, leading the RMT banners & flags in the Parade at the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival. Great to see so many supporters along the route. Holiday time now - back in the Bandroom 6 August 😎🎺

The end of an era - 2026 will see a move from Blackpool to Birmingham for the Spring Festival. We competed in the Grand Shield and are very proud to come 7th (number 4 draw) out of 20 top class Bands. All the focus & hard work with MD Chris Bentham is paying off 🎶🎺🥁🎶

Rehearsal time pre Contest. Good to get out of the Bandroom for a change of scenery & acoustics 🎶🎺

🎶 We've nearly finished the 'to do' list, but we've done enough to get all our equipment out of storage and to get back to rehearsing in our Fishburn bandroom. Time to start working on the next Test Piece - 'Diversions' - for our Regional Championships in March 🎶

Another great night at St Mary's Church, Long Newton. Even Storm Darragh couldn't keep us away & Musical Director, Chris Bentham, picked a programme full of featured soloists & festive favourites to keep the audience entertained ⭐🎄❄

Good job well done! The first of many brass group & full band events in the run up to Christmas. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to make a donation to our hard working Collectors. We'll be back at Dalton Park again on Sunday 15 December at 12 noon if you missed us today 🎺🎄

It is always a great honour & a privilege to take part in the Birtley Remembrance Day Parade & Service at the Cenotaph 🎺🌺

🎺 Bandroom renovations progressing well. Roof being added & internal works start on Monday, all under the watchful eye of our very own in-house architect & bumper-up Cornet, John White. Thanks to Peterlee Band for allowing us to share their Bandroom 🎺

Another great weekend for our Brass Group at the Hardwick Festival playing for the crowds 🎺🥳⭐

🎺 Another Gala Day completed, starting with Club concert Friday, marching round Fishburn on Saturday before heading to Durham. A privilege to play Gresford with the young brass players before the speeches. Weather did not deter the crowds - thanks for your support 🎺

Had a great day retaining our title of Overall Best Band at Wetherby March & Hymn Tune Contest. Prizes for Best Championship Section Band & Geneva's Unsung Hero's Award (middle of the Band). A first win for Resident Conductor, David Conway. Go Team Fishburn🏆⭐🏆

Not in the prizes this year, but retained our Grand Shield status for the 2025 Spring Festival. Such a difficult piece & a lot of hard work culminated in a performance to be proud of with superb featured soloists. Onwards & upwards 🎶🎺🎶💚

🎶 6th isn't where we wanted to finish at the Area Contest, but we've put that disappointment aside. Congratulations to Bass Section of Spennymoor Town Band, 1st winners of our 'Keith Hepworth Memorial Award'. So what's next - the Spring Festival in May at Blackpool 🎶

🎺 It's the start of the Regional Championships today with 77 North West bands heading to Blackpool. All 5 Sections take place in the Winter Gardens as bands try to qualify for the 2024 National Finals. Our North of England Area is on the weekend of 16-17 March 🎺
