Some have said that Tony Khan can’t overprice the tickets because there isn’t a high demand for AEW tickets More false narratives by AEW haters. AEW sold nearly 19K+ in the presale and there isn’t even a match announced yet. All In London is on pace to have as many as tickets sold as for a night at WrestleMania. Tony Khan doesn’t overprice the tickets because he isn’t greedy. There is a high demand for AEW tickets. Tony just cares about the wrestling fans.

@BrandonTheHeel Smackdown was not doing good enough for FOX to over spend for it again. USA took the cheaper option NXT PLEs are going to YouTube ESPN has to worry about VPNs cutting into their business. I can't see any way how this has worked out for them

So basically, you don’t actually understand what “getting cancelled” means… or you genuinely think #WWE is in trouble while they’ve got billions locked in through media rights deals across multiple cable networks and streaming platforms. Yeah, that totally adds up.

It's not looking good for WWE... FOX was disappointed with SmackDown ratings and cancelled. NBC was disappointed with SNME and cancelled. X was disappointed with Speed and cancelled. Netflix & ESPN are both disappointed with WWE’s numbers, and realizing that they overpaid. NXT will be streaming on YouTube because no one wants to air their PLEs.

@BrandonTheHeel I don't think monthly shows are a major driver in subscriptions. Part of that's because Netflix has the PLEs internationally and the cuts into ESPN's business

#Smackdown was not canceled. A show getting canceled means that the show is no longer in production, that was never the case. That would be like saying #WWERaw was canceled by the USA Network simply because they got a new deal with #Netflix. Media rights contracts ending are not the same as a television show getting canceled for low ratings. #SNME was moved from NBC to Peacock to compensate for the fact that #WWE wanted out of the PLE deal early so they start with the #ESPN deal. #WWE is seen as a major driver in subscriptions.

Smackdown was cancelled. That’s what happens when networks don’t renew a show. SNME was moved to Peacock because Dateline in the same slot gets better ratings. However, this is all baseless speculation from Air Gold. Cost vs ratings, WWE looks disappointing. But like with AEW, we don’t know the metrics these networks/streamers use so unless you work for NBCU/Netflix/WBD, it’s speculation.
