@Cgustafson14 Thanks for that insight. As anyone who has managed bermudagrass knows, the “pull the grass out of the turf no more grass in turf” approach doesn’t work.

@Fitz12Joey Once again the grass isn’t going to just start growing on top of the turf. It came from somewhere. In this case the grass on the other side of the fence. If you pull the grass out of the turf no more grass in turf. If grass clippings stop blowing on the turf no more grass on turf

These warning track weeds brought to courtesy of a “maintenance free” midwestern softball field. I wonder if the synthetic turf marketing machine takes this into account on their zero maintenance calculations.

@Cgustafson14 Please help me to understand how these stolons growing through the fence line and over the maintenance barrier are a product of bad mowing practices.

@Fitz12Joey Bermuda will grow through a geo fabric, 2 feet of stone, the backing of the turf, and the infill? It’s 100% from mowing, I see it all the time. People mow with the clippings blowing towards the field or mulch it and it blows onto the field

@Cgustafson14 Nah, warning track littered with bermuda encroachment. Not a mowing issue. Bermuda is gonna go.

@Fitz12Joey Maintenance free hasn’t been a selling point for synthetic turf in 10+ years. Less maintenance than natural sure. Looking at the photo whoever is mowing the grass outside the fence needs to stop blowing grass on the field and would solve the problem.
