@RodneyMarshall1 Always hits that little bit deeper when it involves someone who was in Boys From The Black Stuff. To be part of something that’ll never be forgotten is some legacy though.

Boys from the Blackstuff, Between the Lines, Frozen at the National Theatre, A Fish Called Wanda...just four snapshots from an acting career that spanned half a century. If Tom Georgeson was in it, you knew it was worth watching. RIP.

#5DebutAlbums8589 Courtney Pine’s emergence with Journey to the Urge Within was well timed given pop’s crossover into jazz at the time. Though whilst his debut is predominantly jazz, Pine delves into soul with a superb rendition of The Real Thing’s Children of The Ghetto. Nice.

#5DebutAlbums8589 There is an extraordinary range of moods on Ancient Heart from upbeat to downbeat, playful to reflective, despairing to hopeful. A remarkable debut from an artist still in her teens at the time of recording and impossible to better.

#5DebutAlbums8589 Haunting and beautifully crafted, Wonderful Life still reels me in almost 40 years on. The anguish of Colin Vearncombe’s vocals resonated with my awkward adolescence back then. I guess I’m no less awkward now.

#5DebutAlbums8589 When it came to pin ups Terence Trent D’Arby reigned supreme back in ‘87. But his debut showed his substance to go with his style. The a Capella As Yet Untitled is one of those moments where I can’t help but lose myself. Simply inspirational.

#5DebutAlbums8589 Scallywag Jaz mixed @thomaslanguk’s unrelenting torch singing with an exceptional jazz pop sound. A unique and beautiful combination and, as debuts go, something of a masterpiece.

#5DebutAlbums8589 Any album is automatically elevated with the inclusion of Mary’s Prayer. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that Meet Danny Wilson has nothing else to offer. It’s an intriguing, varied and confident debut in an era when pop had depth and meaning.

@Top10Nathan Pretty much what I was going to post. The transformation from earthy soul to mainstream radio friendly slop, plus Hucknall’s ever expanding ego, is one of pop’s mightiest downgrades.

#5DebutAlbums8589 #NowPlaying Simply Red | Picture Book I know it's sacrilege to many, but this debut is genuinely good. In places, it's bloody brilliant. The title track and Jericho are among my favourite 80s tracks, but I think this will end up missing out on my 5.

#5DebutAlbums8589 Given their evolution both musically and lyrically over 40 years, there is a rawness to Back in the DHSS that is jarring at times. But it’s no less significant or brilliant for that. Half Man Half Biscuit is a love that endures.

@mattjones_sport It was Rimmer that woke up the big guns to the value of youth development. With the PL clubs having their own academies, it’s now impossible for the Rovers of this world to compete.

In my humble opinion, Warwick Rimmer dines at the same table as Johnny King when it comes to Tranmere legends. Few have done as much for, or been as important to, the club as this man. Without him, who knows where #TRFC would be?

#5DebutAlbums0509 It was through the comprehensive Andy Warhol’s America documentary that I stumbled across New Young Pony Club’s Ice Cream. And Fantastic Playroom contains some equally hypnotic tunes. A compellingly tight yet quirky debut.

#5debutalbums0509 When I heard about the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, I could not resist checking these guys out. And I’m glad I did. Just don’t ask me to explain what Mathcore is though.

@spandau_wirral Muir’s touch for the 2nd goal typifies his natural ability. Selling him and paying over the odds for Gary Bennett wasn’t Kingy’s wisest move.
