An audit prompted by numerous whistleblower complaints from residents concerned about the City of Arnold's possible misuse of two Transportation Development Districts (TDDs) has now confirmed citizens' fears as the final report from Auditor Fitzpatrick finds the city has operated in the shadows and the grey areas of the law to generate millions of dollars in tax revenue without voter approval, and then used the money to inappropriately fund city developments. Auditor Fitzpatrick says the City of Desloge Municipal Division has made good progress to address the missing money uncovered by a 2024 audit and has taken important steps to prevent money from being stolen from the court in the future. Fitzpatrick released a follow-up report today that indicates court officials have implemented most of the recommendations from the previous audit that gave the court the lowest possible rating of "poor."
