I’m developing the #retro #JRPG Harbingers of Destiny to also run on IRIX! x.com/fixedfuncstudi… Back in the late 90s when I got the idea for the JRPG, I developed on an SGI Octane. Having been a massive fan of the hardware, I vowed if I ever finished the game, I would release on IRIX as well. I plan to keep that vow, and am finally making this game for real!

“Final Fantasy is the Fast Food of JRPGs” Not really. Final Fantasy was the gourmet meal Then its Head Chef left (Sakaguchi) Then they changed the recipe for 25 years, while its customers begged them to stop Then a French restaurant opened. They showed what the Original Recipe would look like, with today’s tech (Expedition 33) In less than one year, their first dish outsold the last 2 meals Square Enix made (FF16 & FF7 Rebirth) That’s what Final Fantasy was Now it’s just a confused attempt at a gourmet meal, that only follows half the recipe
