CS John Mbadi: With less money, you can buy more if prices go down and vice versa. The fact that prices of commodities have not been rising can make the same amount that you had in 2022 buy more. We are trying to make sure that disposable income is not affected in a negative way #CitizenExplainer

IMAGINE WETA AND KINGI, USING TAXPAYERS MILLIONS, PRA(E)YING FOR KENYANS 🫆High Court (Justice Gregory Mutai) ordered Parliament to disclose spending on the annual National Prayer Breakfast within 30 days in a layman-accessible format 🫆Ruled it violates the right to information to deny taxpayers details on how their money is spent 🔴 Why Justice Mutai STOPPED SHORT of Declaring It Unconstitutional 🫆The constitutionality question was raised as part of a broader petition — he ruled it must be pursued as a separate, fresh case 🫆He also rejected Parliament’s and AG’s argument that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the petition 🫆Essentially: procedural caution, not substantive disagreement — the constitutional question remains live but unresolved

The G-to-G framework which was introduced about three years ago for fuel imports lacks transparency and has not secured competitive prices. When importing oil, there is an item called premium; it is where the competition is. Under the G-to-G framework, which was not fully disclosed to this House for interrogation, the premium was fixed at $100 per tonne. The global average for premium has been $60 per tonne, meaning Kenya is paying over $40 more. ~

MP Caroli Omondi has revealed how Kenyans are allegedly being milked through the G-to-G oil deal. According to him, the deal fixes oil import premiums at about $100 per tonne. Yet globally, premiums are around $60. In neighbouring countries like Uganda and Tanzania, they average about $80. So the big question is: Why are Kenyans paying some of the highest premiums in the region? Before G-to-G, importers competed against each other. Competition kept prices lower. Now a small circle of OMCs imports oil under a protected arrangement, and the extra $20-$40 per tonne is allegedly being passed directly to Kenyans. That difference may sound small. But multiplied across millions of litres of fuel, it translates into billions extracted from citizens through: • expensive fuel • higher matatu fares This is why global oil prices fall, but life in Kenya never gets cheaper. G-to-G was sold as a solution. For many Kenyans, it is beginning to look like one of the biggest scams in the fuel sector.

Press Release: Claims by Persons Purporting to Stage Election Manipulation in the 2027 General Election IEBC notes with grave concern recent utterances by certain political actors alleging that they will influence the electoral process in the 2027 presidential election through extra- legal mechanisms. These utterances, which have elicited considerable disquiet within the electoral environment, pose a real risk of distorting public perception of Kenya’s democratic processes. IEBC considers such utterances to be unacceptable, reckless, and entirely baseless. The utterances are clearly intended to instill fear, mislead the public and erode confidence in the integrity of the electoral system. IEBC therefore, urges all Kenyans to disregard, dissociate and refrain from amplifying them. Download: bit.ly/4frmTdh #16thJulyByelection #YourVoteYourFuture #TalkWithIEBC #StopFakeNews

heartbreaking new survey shows our teachers are in a massive crisis: 97% live paycheck to paycheck 88% can't pay their debts 60% are burnt out 12% are suicidal Teachers build our country’s future. If they are drowning, what does that say about our future? Where is hope? #financebill26 #inflation #costofliving

Agree or disagree? Every election we divide ourselves into tribes, defend politicians emotionally, fight online, and vote like our lives depend on surnames and regions. Then after elections we all reunite in the same suffering. Fuel prices rise. Food prices rise. Rent rises. Taxes multiply. Jobs disappear. Businesses struggle. But somehow viongozi become richer every single year while ordinary wananchi downgrade their lives just to survive. Maybe the real tribalism in Kenya is no longer Kikuyu, Luo, Kalenjin, Luhya or Kamba. Maybe the real divide is between a protected political class growing wealthier from the system and millions of struggling citizens carrying the country on their backs.

Kenya is not poor. Kenya is politically looted. We borrow trillions, pay taxes on everything, work like donkeys… yet hospitals have no medicine, schools are collapsing and youth are jobless. So where is the money going? A country cannot survive when leadership becomes a feeding program for a few families. Our movement is not opposition It is national self-defense. What’s the ONE system you think is most broken in Kenya today? #draintheswamp
