@haralabob Did you ever struggle with this level of stupidity? Struggle to say sane/professional through these convos

You would be surprised how difficult these conversations were -
"is that a good shot?
"Its a wide open 3 in transition from a 39% 3pt shooter. so yes."
"But if it misses what happens to the spirit of the team?"
"i dunno i am not a therapist"
Other assistant chimes in -
"Thats a pig shot"
Rinse and repeat for the first 1.5 months or so on the job.

Feels good to be in a gifting mood and have one more contest to sift through, the Relationship Advice one. It's something that everyone has an opinion on, but I find that just when you think you have a good grasp of things, life tends to throw you a curveball. Kinda like poker.
Remember you either must have already signed up with my code, or be able to sign up someone new in order to redeem the prize. Contest is already closed so comments since last night will not count

The reviews are in on my coaching program: “Not for everyone” 😟
I’ve shared glowing reviews of Beyond The Game. Now, I’ll share some more mixed feedback and the struggle I had with it.
Before I dive in…
When I post about BTG it’s for three reasons. First, it’s marketing.
I’ve done a poor job promoting the program because [long story] so I sometimes have to force myself to get the word out.
Second, I post about it because it’s the main thing consuming my days, so it’s very often on my mind!
Third, I post because I really believe in it. I think that it will be life-changing for many people, and I want those people to find me.
I say that all because yes, I decided to figure out what to write about because I forced myself to market, but below are my real thoughts on a real issue I struggle with, and one that I know many others do too.
Cancellations
When I launched the program, I believed that anyone who plays poker (or honestly, anyone who is self-employed) would benefit from it – immensely if they dedicated themselves to it.
In the month gearing up to our launch, 88 people joined BTG, which I was thrilled by.
As the first month unfolded, many people loved BTG’s start, but three decided they wanted out. Truth be told, this was really hard for me.
Each had reasons unrelated to the quality of BTG – new obligations, a change in life priorities, etc. – but I know that people make excuses to be nice. I decided they probably didn’t like what they saw.
When you put things out into the world, inevitably, some people won’t like them. This is true for content, business, art, opinions — anything.
Many people struggle with this. They can let one negative response overpower a hundred positive ones. I’m one of those people.
My first reaction was to tell myself that they didn’t give it a chance. They didn’t even try the program – they can’t know how much it will help them. So, who were they to criticize this thing that I’d worked so hard on?
(I’ll explain why this defensive response is irrational later on in this post)
I held fast to my belief that BTG would pay dividends for anyone who joined — as long as they stuck with it, of course.
Feedback
Eight weeks after launching, we sent out a survey. I wanted to know what was working for people and what wasn’t. I wanted to know how to improve and how to help them more.
Most reviews were great, but there were a number of them that challenged (and changed) my view of the program.
After the first two months, we asked how likely our members were to recommend BTG to a friend (1-10), and then asked why they gave the score they did.
Here are some of the responses that don’t make the testimonial highlight reel:
“I think it's great for some people but less so for others”
“Not everyone is ready or can afford”
“I think for some people it would be a 10 and for others it wouldn’t help much”
“I don't think it's for everyone. If someone is interested in the group and improving themselves then this is the first thing I tell them about.”
“I think only a certain type of person would want to join.”
“To most people I would probably recommend it 10/10, but I know some people just wouldn’t be a good fit.”
Rethinking
I believed I, through BTG, could make a big difference for anyone. But now, several people were telling me I was wrong.
A few people had left the program and now a number of others were saying they didn’t think it was for everybody. The feedback impacted me less than those quitting the program, but it still stung.
(Don’t worry, feedback-givers. This helps me!)
I had to take a look in the mirror and rethink my stance…
