Our mission is to save and maintain the records of the people and events that have shaped the evolution of Florida’s court system from the early 1800s on.

Before there was The Florida Bar, there was the Florida State Bar Association. The Florida Bar's predecessor was a voluntary organization of lawyers that laid the foundation for the integrated, mandatory Bar we know today. Its members and leaders, including the presidents featured in today's 75th Anniversary article, were trailblazers of their time. These leaders were state senators, Supreme Court justices, U.S. senators, judges, professors, war veterans, authors, civic leaders, and bar reformers. In our continued celebration of 75 years of The Florida Bar, we hope you enjoy this article and, in it, find a moment of reflection this Wednesday afternoon. Thanks to the archival work of former staff member Vicki Brand and the detailed research and composition of A World of Opportunities to Discover Florida's Legal and Judicial History: Presidents of the Florida State Bar Association, 1907–1949 from our friends at @FlCourtHistory for making this and other works possible. floridabar.org/the-florida-ba…
