Some solid engagement on this post and some strong views from heavy hitters in #westcdnag
Don’t have to scroll through @LowBoomLowDrift’s timeline too far to know that these are impressive units.
5 gallons-Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Can these units do it? Seems like it. But not every operation, nor every operator is equipped to be able to do it well.
Sprayers, simply, are tires, boom, tank and pump. Water quality and nozzles are the cheapest things in that unit. Also the most costly if you don’t pay attention. There has been some very poor water tests this spring despite impressive runoff. Dugouts, wells, and canals alike.
Good nozzles putting out the right droplet for the pressures you run cost $0.20/acre with a 10K acre life. And I know there’s a lot of rigs running tips that were there when Trudeau 1 was in power….
Water? A cheap test and $2-3/acre to condition if needed
Simple agronomy done right > sexy agronomy 11x/10.

Can we still get coverage in big wind at 5 gallons per acre ? 😎

@CharlesBullee @kowalchukfarms1 Correct.
Was it a goal? Yes.
But he was nowhere near position to call it. Ego call.
English

@kowalchukfarms1 @Flad02 So if ref calls no goal on the ice the reply team will go with no goal to? It blows my mind how the official could see it cross line from where he was on the ice. He clearly never calls it a goal at the moment.
English

Not sure how a guy can call a good goal on the ice when he’s closer to San Diego than he is to the actual goal.

@kowalchukfarms1 100%. And I’m a Canuck fan.
Ref has 1 job when the puck is at the net.

@Flad02 That was a tough one. Most likely shouldn’t have been called a goal on the ice initially. Replay was inconclusive with the skate blade blocking it so call on the ice stands
English

@rscragg There’s pockets for sure- but Im more pessimistic to be honest. Hope I’m wrong.
English

@Flad02 I think you’d be underestimating the acres. Sure a lot of farmers operate without a ton of office time put in, but in this day and age I would venture that the majority of acres have farms that could at least ballpark their COP within $10/acre.
English

It’s one thing to cheer for a downfall….don’t really agree with it but to each their own.
But if you’re celebrating and don’t know what your own cost of production is- you’re just cheering what can and will happen on your operation.
Scale may be different, but root problem is the same.
