My favorite part of the #WinterOlympics is every event colour commentator just going hard in the paint with technical analysis while I try to figure out what the rules even are.

Without a doubt the highlight of the Canadian feed for #SuperBowlLX is the 4 Skip the Dishes commercials so far.

@olblue81 They do not. Very thorough process for new actives, formulations that come later on (post patent), not so much
English

@Flad02 So does the PMRA not measure performance between formulations?
English

Yearly reminder that post patent or generic products that lead with “we have the same amount of AI” mean absolutely nothing.
Surfactants in the formulation do the heavy lifting. They’re also the most expensive part of the formulation. Not all generics are equal..

Active gets registered, but the formulation varies. Why there’s different control in tough conditions between Transorb and a generic/post-patent formulations
Adjuvants on label would be required in tank to ensure labelled weed performance.
AMS, pH adjusters, Crimson are Utility modifiers widen the parameters for a spray solution to work .
Adjuvants=transmission in truck, need one.
Utility Modifiers= 4x4. Good for when conditions make it necessary but not critical.
English

@Flad02 Is it the surfactant or the active that gets registered by the PMRA?
English

Fair play- up this way majority of our spray conditions 80 Farenheit and under 20% humidity. and have a hard time with grassy's and Lamb Quarters/Kochia, and seen more as generics become more common.
Price difference is getting there here as well- but do you pay for the brand in the hopes the new AI's they develop still come? Or go generic and keep the expense sheet tidy and risk nothing coming?
No perfect answer for sure
English

@Flad02 Part of the heartburn here is the obscene price diff between name brand and generic
I’ve used name brand and generics with mostly good success over my career and when it wasn’t neither had a satisfactory respray program
English

Back in my day surfactants were super cheap to manufacture and sold at huge margins. Of course something could have changed…
