@ZSoFla 5 minute major penalties are for serious no-no's, like fighting. Assuming you mean swinging your stick rather than accidentally hitting someone, and kicking would result in a 5 minute match penalty which is automatic ejection from the game, while your team is still short-handed.

@ZSoFla A full line is 5 players: 2 wingers, centreman, and 2 defencemen. Say I'm coaching the #Flames and the Oilers are the visitors. Oilers put out McDavid's line. I would probably counter with my checking/shutdown line. All defence first players.

@ZSoFla The 2 minute penalty used to be served in full no matter how many goals were scored until 1955-56. It's the "Jean Béliveau Rule" rule: He scored 3 goals in 44 seconds of a powerplay. All the other teams lobbied to change the rule to stop ruining a game.

@ZSoFla It's a team game and in a lot of cases, the team in front of the goalie will play a bad game, it happens. Sometimes a goalie has a bad night. That happens too. There are goals scored that a brick wall wouldn't stop also...
