Not everything has to be a full 1:1 adaptation of Galaxy, it's ok to sprinkle some non Galaxy elements in the movie (which is like the vast majority). The Mario World/Mario Maker scene is one of my favorite parts of the film.

Focusing on a great plot, a couple character arcs and developing them is better than "I shot Mario with a gun that turns him into a baby and he fell on a planet of dinosaurs so we have a 2-minute reference."

I remember Banjo having a ton of fully themed levels, and they all look pretty good for the time. M64 is a timeless classic, but i feel Banjo (obviously) refined a lot of things.

@ID115622471 Never played Banjo-Kazooie until two years ago. It blew my mind how good it is, It has adaptive music depending on the context, really good textures, good gameplay, whole ass themed levels, It's really impressive for its time. "Did you like Mario 64? Here's a ton more" ass game
