7. Design for the person who wasn't looking for it. Your subscriber will click almost anything you post. Your non-subscriber won't. Every element: color, face, text needs to earn the click from someone who's never heard of you. That's the standard top 1% designers hold themselves to.

6. Font weight is a weapon Ultra-bold + ultra-thin in the same thumbnail creates instant hierarchy. The eye reads heavy first, light second. You control the reading order. Most designers use medium weights. Medium weights get skipped.

After 6 years and thousands of thumbnails designed I can tell in 3 seconds if a thumbnail will hit 10%+ CTR. Here are the 7 patterns I look for: 🧵
