F*ck RTO. I don’t care where you work. I care what you deliver. Remote, hybrid, in-office it’s all noise. Here’s what actually matters: - Are you accountable? - Are you solving problems? - Are you making us better? That’s it... Your boss shouldn't track hours or count keystrokes. Leaders exist to unlock and enable people who can deliver to fully deliver their best. If you do your best work at 6am from a cabin in Montana..great. If you need to step away at 3pm for your kid’s soccer game.. Go. Just show up when and where it counts. A message to Leaders, Founders, Managers... - Don’t manage presence - Manage outcomes The best talent doesn’t want to be babysat. They want ownership, trust and space to win. So no, I don’t care where you work and nor should your boss... But I do care how you work and what you make possible. And when that happens? We all win together.

It’s not Return to Office (RTO). It’s Return to Mediocrity. The best people already figured it out. They’re working normal jobs, raising their kids, building side hustles, staying fit and outperforming everyone chained to a desk at 9:03am. The worst people? Still think sitting in a $900 ergonomic chair near Chad from Finance is a productivity hack. Let’s be honest RTO isn’t about collaboration. It’s about control. It’s the insecure VP who doesn’t know how to manage outcomes. It’s the financially constrained CEO trying to justify that 10-year lease. It’s the mid-tier exec whose only skill is scheduling meetings. Here’s the reality: If you’re great you’re productive anywhere. If you’re mediocre you need a babysitter. We’re not going back. Not because we hate the office... We’re not going back because we finally realized time is the currency not free snacks and fake "family" culture. Build for outcomes. Not optics.

I've had my first few minutes alone since Saturday and here are my reflections. First off I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to all of @Bench customers you've been amazing and understanding in a time where you had every right to be upset. I'm excited for the future working with you all and streamlining back-office and accounting for small businesses globally. My DM's are open and I look forward to working more closely with many of you in the coming weeks. In that same vein we are launching a Customer Advisory Board. Which will help us improve our customer experience, products, overall service and customer journey. Anyone interested please message me directly I'll be personally leading many of these meetings and look forward meeting many of you. Secondly, a huge shout out to our team. They stepped up and worked nonstop to pull off a borderline miracle. In less than 48 hours we completed a complex acquisition that would normally take 6+ months, got servers and access live before the start of business at 5am EST Monday. Our entire team did not sleep more than 2-3 hours Sunday night/Monday morning. Since Monday morning we rehired hundreds of employees, actioned and responded to thousands of customers messages and are down to ~200 unanswered customer tickets. Which will be completed early tomorrow morning. A lot more work to do but we're just getting started and I'm excited for the future. Lastly special shout out to one of our lawyers who was on vacation climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with his family using Starlink to make sure there were no delays in getting this done. Sending good vibes and ♥️ to everyone not mentioned who has commented, supported us publicly or privately, or wished us success in general and happy new year to you all!
