We’re halfway through 2025 and somehow…
Companies are still promoting based on time served instead of competence.
The great thing about tech? Depth of experience matters more than breadth. You can be 20 years old and better at your craft than someone who’s been coasting for 20 years.
And if you are...You should run that team.
I’ve seen young, hungry operators build systems, ship product, and scale revenue faster than entire senior teams combined. Meanwhile, I’ve seen “tenured” folks choke the second they’re handed actual responsibility.
Seniority doesn’t mean capability.
Time in seat ≠ readiness.
In 2025:
* Execution beats experience
* Mastery beats tenure
* Meritocracy beats hierarchy
If your org still rewards ladder climbing over value creation you’re not building a tech company. You’re building a bureaucracy.
Promote the people who deliver. Not the people who’ve stuck around long enough to promote.

@JesseTinsley @elonmusk No - it was that the best content on there was dumb (and funnier) as hell. It’s key was the complete lack of algorithm or any logic in terms of the random, seemingly unrelated and strangely 🔥 content it’d push to the top - like the video Reddit.
English

@RecruiterDotCom @elonmusk Maybe originally but AI and algorithms have changed a lot since 2015. TikTok and IG being great examples
English

@JesseTinsley @elonmusk The best part about Vine wasn’t artificial intelligence. It was really dumb. But good news either way.
