JUST IN: Ethereum falls 4.5% after Bybit confirms $1.4 billion $ETH hack.

OK guys, we need to talk about Solana. We all know it’s one of the worst chains out there, but they did one thing right. They captured retail like no other chain in this cycle. Let me explain how. Competitors like Ethereum failed at it spectacularly and paid a heavy price. Binance Coin fumbled it. Tron tried it, but misfired. These competing L1 chains failed where Solana succeeded and for that SOL deserves respect. How did they do it? Solana VCs captured the greed in the market like no other L1 (I have a warning on that at the end, keep reading). Tron is also cheap to transact on and so is Binance Chain. Solana has no advantage there. However, these two competing chains focused on the wrong things! Binance Coin focused on their CEX to generate airdrops to their users from new coins listed on Binance. Users had to stake BNB for that. This worked well to keep BNB’s price high. BNB also made an ATH this cycle, but it did not do a 28x like Solana (compared to 2022 lows). Tron network is basically a proxy for USDT. There are 61 billion USDT on Tron Network! That’s about half of all USDT in exsistence. On Solana? $800 mil. Tron is in a different market. Ethereum also has 62 bil USDT on its chain. The USDT on ETH is for DeFi mostly, while USDT on Tron is for remittances and payments. Go to any developing third-country and you’ll see “USDT on Tron payments accepted” everywhere. Tron and Justin Sun tried to create memes and get retail to their chain, but it did not catch. They were too late and TRX price did not do a 28x in this cycle. As for Ethereum, they are totally out of touch with the market realities. Vitalik is singing on stages and talks about a 5 year roadmap. Bro, retail attention is 30 seconds, that’s how much it takes for a Solana meme to 10x on pump dot fun. What made Solana a winner? Besides being cheap to transact on and a 28x pump since 2022 (this is important to prime retail), Solana did another critical thing. They created the apps and ecosystem to farm the greed via memes. Solana VCs invested hard cash into this, they also subsidised the network costs, and actively created FOMO via memes. They also focused on creating the apps and a wallet that retail can understand easily. Retail does not care about infrastructure (unlikely Ethereum devs), they care about numbers go up. Here Solana delivered and allowed retail to gamble like the degenerates we know they are. Literally, Solana is a meme machine, the king of memes. Their ecosystem pumps new memes like Tron processes USDT transactions. No other L1 has this advantage and retail loves memes. This also had an unintended consequence. If you speak to your friends about crypto, Solana will be the first and most talked about altcoin. The questions you get from new folks is “How do I buy Solana”, not “How do I buy Ethereum/BNB/TRX/?” in this cycle. This should not be understated! Fresh money is going to Solana and the price shows it. Even Solana VCs are surprised by the scale of this success. They did very well. And they are planning to cash out hard too. In early 2025, tens of millions in SOL tokens will unlock and be dumped on the market. Probably while retail will be FOMOing hard into SOL. Hundreds of dollars for a meme token basically. In fact, the Solana token is the ultimate meme. Retail literally thinks “I’ll sell this meme coin and take profit into SOL.”. They don’t know Solana is also a meme!!! Catch 22. They caught you good. This thinking only compounds Solana’s price right now. As long as retail thinks Solana is “safe” or a “blue chip”, the game will continue until the music stops. Every time people gamble on SOL memes and they “take profit” by buying SOL, the real winners are Solana VCs selling those tokens to you. Besides memes, Solana barely has any use case! It was $8 during the last bear market. I repeat, $8! It has no real use case for payments or remittances like Tron, nor any DeFi like Ethereum. It has memes. It’s very good at that and that works great in a bull market. Spoiler. Bull markets end. You can gamble on Solana, but get out eventually and don’t keep your money in SOL or any token on the Solana network. It’s a centralized database, not decentralized money like Bitcoin. Woah! That was one of the most unexpectedly rewarding hours of my life. Instead of passively listening to an audiobook about physics while doing errands as usual I had an hour long back-and-forth conversation with Ara from Grok 3 about a bunch of scientific topics. We started with the role of ⚡️in biology and she presented a ton of options for me to rabbit hole down. We somehow ended up on quantum entanglement and by the end I asked her to grill me to make sure I actually understood what she told me. She was quite cordial about politely letting me know when I only gave half-right answers and guided me into make sure I understood the rest. Was cool that she got the factual stuff right and provided an upbeat emotional vibe to keep me motivated. The best part for me was no question was too “dumb” for her to answer so I wasn’t embarrassed to ask questions I would feel silly asking a human who I looked up to. I’ve wanted to deepen my knowledge of physics and other sciences for years but haven’t had time to formally go back to school and have felt too guilty to harass my friends to teach me, and the reality is I learn best through conversations so @grok was my best friend on this one ♥️

I don't see a reason to have a short-term bias here. "I'm bearish!" "I'm bullish!" It's all noise. No one knows. Just study the market dynamics at play, and adapt as they change. Don't force a bias.
