1/Prob. shouldn’t say this but I hear Ofsted said they didn’t see enough progress in lessons. And this alongside our low GCSE outcomes worked against us. So what they’re effectively saying is schools with better outcomes are more likely to ‘get away’ with lower quality lessons?

Personally I wouldn’t want anyone bar me & my SLT to write our school’s SEF. It would worry me how well someone external truly knew the organisation & surely any given SLT needs to know inside out what their SEF says….

This is great thinking from Alex. We should ask ourselves this more! ‘Knowledge rich’ can morph into contextless teaching without understanding. Implementation of knowledge organisers suffers from this problem. I look at some and think: ‘this is so abstract and vocab dense!’

@Suchmo83 Yeah... if I was being taught how to fix a car (not my area of expertise!), I imagine I'd prefer the mechanic to explain each part when we got around to it, rather than pre-listing them out of context and before I was even certain about what the new learning was around.

My whole staff team shone this week. An Ofsted monitoring visit, a DfE RISE visit, Year 11 Success evening and visits from primary colleagues. They showed commitment, care and belief. It’s important to me that the school is a place where staff can thrive. #ProudtobeBodmin
