@Babysinner3 @affiqahcantik If the muzzle and ear rings and gizmos didn't set off alarms, Alastor being so chipper when talking about Voxtek and new technology DEFINITELY should!!!

@winternitelite Funny you say that, Vox, aren't you supposed to host your own victory party instead of chasing after a prisonner sulking in his corner ...?

Ensnared Radio Demon AU: Trapped by his arrogance and greed for collecting souls, Alastor makes a foolish mistake while gambling with Valentino, losing his soul. When they are alone, Vox is says "what have you done?" in horror…

@Mak3Morn @AnonDrawsFanart HELL YEAH HELL YEAH THAT'S ONE OF MY FAVE SCENES OF THE WHOLE FIC Alastor breaking down and Vox observing him the whole time (and stringing him up immediately again) left such a strong impression and messed them up so much, I love how you conveyed it through their expressions!

Moths do not have the immediate instinct to protect their eggs, they just leave em somewhere hidden I think (?) Cockroaches on the other hand put multiple eggs in a capsule like shell. Vox isn't female though so he has to do a makeshift one.

@Daemon_arts Hahaha, I was worried at first that this AU would have Vox being a rude boss to Alastor like he is to his employees in canon, but he's as smitten as canon!Vox 8D

@vikvikcloud This series is among my fave fanarts of yours, they're full of details and feel so intimate, like they've been living for years in this house and filled it with all their memories...and Alastor seems so relaxed in these too, unbothered to be undressed because he feels safe &comfy

vox and alastor are broadcasts pretending to be bodies, stitched from static and bone and light and glass, each holding transmission in the palm of intimacy, seen and heard as being known, Alastor devouring the world through sound the way a predator listens for the tremor beneath the skin, Vox consuming through vision, pixel by pixel, frame by frame, until nothing exists outside of what can be displayed, both terrified of silence but in different dialects, Alastor fearing the quiet that would reveal a truth self beneath performance, Vox fearing the deactivation would erase him entirely they are mirrors that refuse to reflect honestly, Alastor curating himself as myth, a voice untouched by time, a laugh and persona that loops endlessly to deny decay or affect, Vox refreshing and rebuilding himself endlessly, updating, glitching, buffering, refuting obsolescence, locked in a war against entropy, through preservation, through acceleration, each seeing in the other the shape of a future they cannot survive alone, Alastor seeing Vox as inevitability, of being replaced, Vox seeing Alastor, a horror of something that cannot be upgraded or controlled they hold power as performance as opposed to possession, Alastor staging cruelty like a radio drama, every scream of an overlord a carefully mixed track, every act of violence a narrative beat, Vox rendering his own dominance of the airwaves as spectacle, bright, immediate, consumable, turning fear into programming, requiring an audience to stabilize their existence, both unraveling when unseen, when unacknowledged, when the signal drops or the screen goes dark without reception they use closeness as a form of control, Alastor keeps a distance so precise it becomes ritual, concurrence without touch, attention without vulnerability, Vox reaching, grabbing, folding into others, desperate to anchor himself in something external, fixation as connection, both unable to tolerate a version of love that does not revolve around their own image reflected back at them, one starved for recognition but refusing to ask, the other demanding it so loudly it distorts it all they are relic and prototype in constant collision, Alastor rooted in permanence, in the idea that if something is performed well enough it can last forever unchanged, Vox built on iteration, on the necessity of constant reinvention, yet both equally fragile beneath those philosophies, because permanence calcifies and breaks, and reinvention erases the self it tries to preserve, leaving them caught in a loop where neither evolution nor stasis offers survival, only the illusion of it, always the illusion of it, it's never not been an illusion of it, of them they are, at their core, two different ends to the same beginning, what does it mean to exist if existence must be witnessed, Alastor answering with control over his narrative, with the certainty of a voice that never wavers, Vox answering with saturation, with the insistence that if he is everywhere at once he cannot be ignored, both wrong, both right, both reaching across incompatible mediums toward something like recognition, something like understanding, something like being held, and finding only signal, only noise, only each other, distorted. undeniable.
