2. A release from the notion of online identity, as it becomes so inextricably unmoored from reality that its social utility has been nullified

Long term, two opposite outcomes may play out concurrently: 1. A doubling down of our preoccupation with our online identities, with a race towards even more manufactured traits and behaviors.

It is paradoxical that the advent of the social media age has heightened our preoccupation with our online identities, while we are simultaneously developing #GenerativeAI that has the capability to supplant and counterfeit them.

Generative AI is making me feel like my Reflex camera must have felt in the early 2010s, when smartphones started taking better pictures.
