⚠️ Since posting this, things have changed a little. We're now making plans for a #ThamesBarrier closure tomorrow (although this doesn't mean its definitely going ahead yet). We'll keep monitoring the latest forecast data. x.com/AlanBarrierEA/…

A brighter week in prospect (finally). But spring tides return too. Tomorrow afternoon looking notably high, and we may be operating the #Dartford Barrier. No prospect of a #ThamesBarrier closure for now - coming up for two years since the last flood defence closure.

⚠️ High tides forecast upstream of the #ThamesBarrier today. The Barrier is NOT closing as no property flooding is expected. Monitoring the forecasts during my shifts today and tomorrow as a small tidal surge is forecast for Saturday which could generate another high tide.

The risk of flooding continues across the South of England this week. Stay away from swollen rivers, and never walk or drive through flood water. Check your flood risk, especially if you're travelling this half term: check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk

More heavy rain to come in the south this afternoon, with flooding possible ⚠️ A mixture of rain, sleet and hill snow moving across Northern Ireland ☔ Drier in the north, but feeling chilly for all, especially in the wind 🌬️

A spring tide meeting the high river flows coming down the #Thames means we'll have a high tide upstream of Putney this afternoon. ⚠️ The forecast for tomorrow is higher still and we're making plans for a #ThamesBarrier closure tomorrow. As it's my shift tomorrow, I'll update.
