@PoofySheriff To further clarify: This is what I mean by the "launcher." Starting CSP through this screen seems to use more CPU

English

@PoofySheriff Sorry for not responding sooner!
In terms of "running it by itself": CSP has a launcher that you typically open to start the actual drawing program. In Bottles, you can set a shortcut to skip the launcher and just open the drawing program. I noticed if I do that, it uses less CPU
English

Been working on getting #CLIPSTUDIO working on #Linux ! Recently ditched Windows for Linux Mint, but CSP isn't officially supported.
For anyone interested, definitely recommend using Bottles and following this tutorial:
github.com/pomcomic/CSP-o…
I would not recommend using Lutris
English

@PoofySheriff Not sure what's causing this, if it's just telemetry stuff from the launcher or if it's an issue with a program running in Bottles being used to launch another program.
I haven't done any scientific tests but this is just something I noticed

English

@PoofySheriff Oh, sorry, I was unclear: I was asking how you were going about emulating Win8 for CSP ^^
I actually just noticed something with CSP and Bottles: If I run CSP through the launcher, it has high CPU usage on some cores. However, if I run CSP by itself it uses much less CPU
English

@PoofySheriff If I wasn't able to get it running in Bottles I was gonna try a VM next! Are you just using Virtualbox or is it something else?
English

@FloppyEarFreak My computer uses a AMD 7 7700x which it’s a pretty decent CPU and yeah, i can also hear the fan of my motherboard ramping up whenever I have Bottle running in the background
I’m currently using it to emulate windows 8 for CSP, since a friend told me it’s the most stable
English

@PoofySheriff I'd imagine Arch would give you more performance room due to less overhead, but I guess it depends on how things are setup!
English

@FloppyEarFreak I mean, probably doesn’t help that I’m using Arch Linux
English

@PoofySheriff I do notice it seems pretty CPU heavy through Bottles. Not sure if there's some settings that can be changed to alleviate that...
I've got an i7 13700k for development purposes, but I can hear my fan get louder when CSP is running.
English

@FloppyEarFreak Mostly performance, it takes a while for the program to change brushes, like heavy lag spikes when going around different tools
English

@PoofySheriff Oh really? What kind of issues have you been having with it? Is it a performance thing or just buggy?
English

@FloppyEarFreak I may take a look at this later this week, also decided to get rid of Windows overall and go with Linux. But, working with CSP using Bottles hasn't been easy for me, but, there may be a few bits I can do to make it run better.
Thanks for the post!
