Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you to Dr. Rhodarmer and Admin for getting the CCA faculty Chick-fil-A biscuits this morning! Throughout the week, we’re going to celebrate our teachers by highlighting each department here at the CCA! First up, is our Math Department!

In our Work-Based Learning series, we would like to feature Robotics & Engineering student Hannah Burkhalter (@Pepperell_Pulse), who is completing her internship at Profile Custom Extrusions! Hannah is doing an excellent job utilizing skills from the classroom!

In our WBL series, we would like to feature Engineering student Winston Cash (@ModelHighDevils ), who is completing his internship at Wire Tech! Winston is going to pursue Electrical Engineering at @kennesawstate following graduation! 👏 🔧 ⚙️

Great job to Eric Burkhalter and his Construction student, John Thomas (@ArmucheeHigh) for constructing a nice, custom podium for Dr. Rhodarmer! Thank you Dr. Lee Green for creating the CCA logo in your laser cutter! 🔨 📐

We had a great time showing 4th graders from @PESDragons around the CCA this week!!

Congrats to the @MMSbluedevils1 Math Team for placing 3rd place as a team at their first ever @MATHCOUNTS Competition, which was hosted by @GeorgiaPower!! Also, congrats to Toby Swanagan for placing 1st place in both the Countdown category and 1st place overall!!

The FCS CCA @georgiaTSA chapter had a great time at the CTSO Day at the Capitol today, getting to meet @KatieDempseyGA and hand her handwritten letters by students advocating for CTAE Education! We also got to meet Lynsey Singleton, the CTSO Coordinator for the @georgiadeptofed!

Happy CTAE Month!! February is CTAE month and we are proud to be a CTAE school! CTAE stands for Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education! We enjoy doing our part in preparing the future workforce of tomorrow!! 🔧

In Robotics & Engineering this week, students built a VEX V5 Workcell robot from scratch and programmed it to draw a semicircle!! 🤖

Our own Rick Williams was recognized as @FloydCoSchools’ Connect Employee of the Month for December!! Well done!! 👏👏

We are all set to collect life-saving blood today! 🩸

Check out the latest edition of the CCA’s Poe Drive Journal! Some highlights include: the CCA Showcase, the 100% passing rate of CMA licensing and Engineering EOPA exams, and an over 90% passing rate for the EOPA for Teaching students!! ✏️

Robotics & Engineering had a great Industry Advisory Committee Meeting tonight! A lot of items were discussed, such as student projects, curriculum, internships, and industry certifications! ⚙️ 🔧

Our administrators and students have been hard at work redoing our courtyard. A special thank you to Elijah from ForeverGreen, for your help with the turf install today! Thank you Shaw Industries for the turf donation! 🌱
