Colos are the apartment buildings of AI infrastructure. People assume “AI workloads = hyperscalers only.” Wrong. A ton of GPU training + inference is already happening inside colo racks, driven by tenants and neoclouds. Where do you think neoclouds start? Autonomous data centers - power, servers, and cooling orchestrated together. Now data centers can unlock stranded power, work with the energy grid to be flexible, and help tenants unlock savings so we can meet the demand for AI.

Introducing @FluixAi autonomous workload manager that coordinates BMS, DCIM, and grid feeds to time-shift, throttle, and relocate workloads, so AI data centers can meet grid events, avoid curtailment, and unlock stranded power. In Dec ’25, NVIDIA acquired SchedMD, the team behind Slurm, the open-source workload manager used to schedule and dispatch jobs in many GPU clusters. I remember using Slurm and being blown away by how cleanly you could allocate resources by job type and policy. The catch: it’s still largely manual, and in many environments the facility doesn’t control the compute (colo, MSP, multi-tenant AI). That’s exactly where “compute flexibility” has been hardest to operationalize. Our approach turns flexibility into a product. Tenants opt into a flexible SLA to get lower-cost compute. Operators get grid compliance + capacity headroom even when they don’t own the GPUs. Sneak peek:
