I recommend Camberwell as a place to move to in London, especially if you're planning on having kids. It's gentrifying nicely but it's still pretty cheap. It's pretty well connected transport-wise and it has some excellent shops, restaurants, pubs and parks - two of the best pubs in London, in fact, and one of the best parks.
