Following a very productive field #expedition, our PhD student Melissa and our Master student Madina have now been working tirelessly in the climate chamber to prepare the #permafrost cores for their mesocosm #incubation experiments. #FluxWIN

After a successful week in the field, our team has safely returned home from their #expedition to Finnish #Lapland. Our PhD student Mélissa is now excited to start her mesocosm #incubation experiments and look at the greenhouse gas production of #permafrost soils. #FluxWIN

During our winter #Lapland expedition this month, we were blessed with amazing weather and great field conditions for sampling #permafrost cores. #FluxWIN

Fun times exploring a #peatland in the Potsdam region. We tested out this floating mat and even found some #sphagnum moss and sundew. Great to have a #science playground at our fingertips! #FluxWIN

#throwback to our very wet #wetland tour a few weeks ago with Prof. Dr. Diekmann, head of AWI Potsdam. We learned a lot about the #geology and #geomorphology of the region and enjoyed exploring different sites - as usual, dressed with style to defy the rainy weather.
