OCTOBER ROUND 2023 Regional Arts Fund Quick Response Grants NOW OPEN! Regional Arts Fund Quick Response Grants aim to support small arts or cultural projects that cannot be funded by other means. Closing: 11:59pm 31 October 2023. Amount: Up to $3,000.

Today we spotlight the ‘Remote Artist Award’, an art prize in the 2023 QRAA with a $15,000 total prize pool. Netta Loogatha, whose artwork is featured in this post, was the 2021 winner of this award with her work ‘My Country’ made from acrylic on Belgian linen.

Internationally acclaimed didgeridoo virtuoso William Barton and Queensland Symphony Orchestra to perform at Cairns Festival! Digitized artworks of First Nations artist Rosella Namok, winner of the QRAA First Nations Artist Award will feature on large screens during the concert.

The Governor, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM opens the Cairns leg of the 2022 QRAA exhibition! It will be on display at the Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre, Cairns from 1 September to 24 September 2023 during the Cairns Festival 2023!

Sunday boost of Jan from saturday QRAA

We welcomed over 100 guests to our launch of the 2023 QRAA last night. The space featured a selection of winning artworks from previous QRAA and Kellie O’Dempsey took to the stage to speak about the personal and professional significance of winning the Art for Life Award!

Reframe toured to Moranbah between 26 July and 13 August, 2023. Moranbah State High School hosted a Reframe Exhibition Workshop with artist Nancy Brown. Students visited Coalface Art Gallery and participated in a mixed media workshop and informative learning activities.

We are excited to share that Darren Blackman, renowned artist and proud Gureng Gureng\Gangalu man won the Innovation Award at the CIAF 2023 Art Awards. In 2021, Darren won the First Nations Artist Award in Flying Arts' Queensland Regional Art Awards, with his piece Stolen.
